DESCRIPTION:In light of COVID-19 and its continually evolving effect on our day-to-day lives\, TBG is taking the necessary care and precautions to do our part in keeping our members\, employees and community safe.  \nTBG is pleased to announce we have partnered with Genie/Terex to provide a Train-the-Trainer course to address the changes effective March 1\, 2020 to the A92 ANSI standard addressing boom lifts and scissor lifts as well as other mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs). This standard change can eventually become enforceable by OSHA and if incorporated would directly affect training requirements for operators. TBG will be hosting a Genie corporate trainer for three separate\, day long classes that will qualify attendees in the new standard. \nWho: TBG members looking to qualify in-house operator trainers in scissor lifts and boom lifts \nWhen: April 8\, 2020 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (breakfast & lunch provided) \nGenie Lift Pro MEWP Train-the-Trainer Courses are designed to help prepare participants to confidently and effectively train others in the safe and proper use of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). Participants will receive the latest training curriculum required for operator qualification and training. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion\, Trainer/Operator card and Genie Lift Pro Operator Training Kit which includes all materials necessary to teach an unlimited number of students. Genie Lift Pro courses meet all applicable ANSI\, OSHA and CSA requirements for operator training. \nMEWP Course Curriculum Example:\n• Overview of ANSI A92/CSA B354 standards and how OSHA/OHS enforces those standards\n• Overview of course materials\n• Overview of the responsibilities of all parties associated with the operation of aerial work platforms as outlined by ANSI (manufacturer\, dealer\, user\, owner and operator)\n• Hazard recognition and avoidance\n• How to perform a pre-operation inspection\n• How to perform function tests\n• How to perform a workplace inspection\n• Safe machine operation\n• Final exam\n• Hands-on practical training\n• Workplace inspection\n• Pre-operation inspection (group)\n• Function Tests (group and individual)\n• Machine operation (individual)\n• Wrap-up\nGenie Lift Pro courses are not Genie-specific. DESCRIPTION:BAM\, in partnership with NAHB\, will host a FREE four-hour residential focused fall protection training seminar on 12/12/18 at The Builders Group.  \nWorkers falling from a structure\, roof\, ladder or scaffolding continue to be the leading cause of injuries and fatalities in the residential construction industry. This training program will help employees and employers identify and avoid fall hazards encountered during home building operations. It will also focus on the prevention of falls\, solutions to protect against and arrest falls\, as well as the rescue of a fallen worker.  \nAs a participant in this training\, you will be able to:\n•	Recognize common fall hazards in residential construction.\n•	Identify when fall protection is required.\n•	Determine which protection system to use for a given fall hazard.\n•	Understand the key requirements and basic safety practices for each protection system.\n•	Understand the safety requirements and practices for ladders and scaffolding. \nPlease preregister ASAP for this exciting opportunity.
